Richard Hutten

Richard Hutten

Richard Hutten is an internationally renowned Dutch designer with a degree from the Academy Industrial Design in Eindhoven. In 1991 Hutten started his own design studio, working on a variety of projects such as: furniture-, product-, interior- and exhibition design. Hutten is part of the very successful and influential generation of designers that emerged in Holland during the 1990s and onwards.

Hutten works with furniture design, product design as well as interior design and is famous for design concepts such as "No Sign of Design". Richard Hutten has previously worked with Donna Karan New York, Karl Lagerfeld and the Dutch Royal Court. His work is part of the permanent collections of, among others, Centraal Museum Utrecht, Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art Amsterdam, Vitra Museum Weil am Rhein, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Philippe Starck used some of Hutten’s designs for the interiors of the Delano Hotel Miami and the Mondrian Hotel Los Angeles.
